Minor damage was reported from a fire Friday morning at Fosston Tri-Co-op Elevator in Fosston, Minn.

The fire was reported at about 8:45 a.m., after workers smelled smoke and then someone saw smoke coming from the elevator, according to a report from the Polk County Sheriff’s Department.

Firefighters from Fosston, McIntosh, Erskine and Crookston were called to the fire, which was quickly extinguished, according to a spokesman from the sheriff’s department.

Neighbors were alerted to the fire, although nobody was evacuated, according to the report.

The facility remained closed and the area blocked off through Friday afternoon to allow crews to remove grain from two bins at the facility.
