Minor injuries in bike-car accident
A 12-year-old boy received minor injuries after being hit by a car while riding his bike Friday afternoon.
The Frazee Police Department reports the boy was crossing the intersection of East Main Street and Second Street near Frazee Family Foods when the driver hit him.
The boy was transferred to a hospital where he was treated for minor cuts and scrapes and released the same night.
The driver, who was going about 20 to 25 mph, told police that the boy was thrown over her car and was bleeding.
Frazee Police Officer Tyler Trieglaff said the boy stopped at the stop sign, but parked cars were apparently blocking his view.
No citations were issued and the woman's car was not severely damaged, he said.
"He just was crossing the street, she wasn't speeding, not late for work, just an unfortunate accident that turned out OK," Trieglaff said.
