On Wednesday, Dec. 17, employees of MnDOT, State Patrol and Driver & Vehicle Services hosted their 14th annual Hospice Holiday Charity Potluck.

More than 90 current and former employees donated a variety of items, many of them handmade. This year's donations included home baked goodies, handcrafted items and woodworking pieces.

A very special entry is always a handmade quilt, crafted by Teresa Elkin in memory of her father-in-law, E.E. Elkin. Teresa's father-in-law passed away in 2000 under the care of hospice services in Iowa. She calls her annual quilt donation a "labor of love" and a way to honor his memory. It is also a way to show appreciation of the "Hospice angels" who provided care for him.

Bob Kotaska and Trudy Kordosky organize the annual charity potluck. This year, $1,260 was raised, bringing the grand total over the years to $11,221.
