Mobile home damaged in Sunday night fire

BEMIDJI TOWNSHIP -- No injuries were reported in a mobile home fire Sunday evening in Bemidji Township, officials said.

The Bemidji Fire Department responded to the fire in the 1200 block of Little Norway Avenue SE at about 11:45 p.m. Sunday. The fire was reported by a passing motorist.

When firefighters arrived, the rear portion of the mobile home was fully engulfed by flames, officials said. A total of 17 firefighters used two fire engines and two water tenders to extinguish the fire. All the occupants of the home escaped from the fire and no injuries were reported. The fire caused an estimated $30,000 in damage to the structure and contents. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Bemidji Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, Bemidji Ambulance and Beltrami Electric Co-op.
