Montgomery Gentry live at Shooting Star Jan. 31
Award-winning country duo Montgomery Gentry will perform live on stage at Shooting Star Casino, Hotel & Event Center in Mahnomen on Friday, Jan. 31, at 8 p.m.
Tickets are $25 and are on sale now. They can be purchased by phone at 1-800-313-SHOW (7469), online at www.StarCasino.com, or via the “Events” tab on Shooting Star’s Facebook page.
Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry, who make up the chart-topping country duo, have well-known hits such as “If You Every Stop Loving Me,” and “Something To Be Proud Of.”
Despite their success, Montgomery Gentry remains in touch with its working-class roots, letting their fans know that they’re still rowdy redneck rebels who hold small-town Kentucky values.
Montgomery and Gentry started performing together in 1990 as part of the group Early Tymz, which was led by Montgomery’s brother.
Shortly after Early Tymz went their separate ways, Montgomery Gentry was founded, and, 15 years later, are working on their eighth studio album, to be released spring 2014.
The superstar duo has 14 Top 10 singles, a Grammy nomination, and many awards from the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music, all under their big, country belt buckle.
After leaving their long-time label, Columbia Records in 2010, the duo signed with powerhouse independent label Average Joes Entertainment a year later.
The country stars feel like they are able to give their audience a new and improved sound.
“We are able to go into the studio fresh, without our hands tied, and we were able to get the stuff done that we wanted to do and produce what we think is our best work to date,” Gentry said.
Also coming to the Shooting Star this winter are 38 Special, Friday, Feb. 14; Steve Hall & Shotgun Red Band, Friday, Feb. 21; Ricky Skaggs, Friday, March 7; and Neil McCoy, Friday, March 21.
All stage shows start at 8 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Visit starcasino.com or call 800-313-7469 for more information.
