Moorhead attorney's license suspended indefinitely
The Minnesota Supreme Court issued an order Thursday indefinitely suspending Moorhead lawyer Richard Varriano's license for violations of clients' trust accounts.
The action followed the court finding of "multiple violations" by Varriano of the professional code of responsibility for lawyers, although no clients suffered known losses as a result of the trust account violations.
The misconduct also involved representing clients with a clear conflict of interest and using a trust account to shelter personal funds from the Internal Revenue Service.
Varriano cannot apply for reinstatement for at least a year, according to the order.
"I'm just disappointed," Varriano said when asked for comment. "That's all. I have to live with it."
