Jonathan Richard Corbin, 22, was sentenced to 180 days in jail and two years of supervised probation. He also must pay $551 in restitution and $775 in fees, undergo a chemical dependency evaluation and have no contact with the victim.

According to Fargo police, the victim noticed he was being followed when he drove home at about 11:40 p.m. Two intoxicated suspects got out of their vehicle and confronted the victim, and one of the suspects threw what appeared to be pea rock at the victim and demanded money.

The victim was punched in the face three times, Assistant State's Attorney Tristan Van de Streek said.

Defense attorney Charles Sheeley said the incident was "extremely out of character" for Corbin.

Corbin told Judge John Irby that he's considering treatment for alcohol after serving his sentence.

Corbin received 50 days of credit for time served.

A robbery charge is pending against the other suspect, William James Kuta, 22, of Moorhead.
