Moorhead police arrest suspect in gunshot incident near Chumley's Bar
MOORHEAD - Police in Moorhead have arrested a Fargo man in connection with a report of gunshots fired early Wednesday in the area of Chumley's Bar, 1608 Main Ave.
The gunshots were reported at 2:51 a.m., and a responding officer stopped a vehicle driving away from the scene, Sgt. Toby Krone said. The driver was investigated for driving while intoxicated, and a search of his vehicle during the investigation produced a handgun that tied him to the gunshot incident, Krone said.
Jessie Lee Ramsey, 31, of Fargo, was arrested on suspicion of felony drive-by shooting, reckless discharge of a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, DWI, test refusal and several other minor traffic-related offenses, according to a police news release.
Ramsey was being held in the Clay County Jail.
Krone said police are investigating how many shots were fired and in which direction, and whether the incident involved a dispute. No one was injured in the shooting.
