Dale Morigeau, 51, of Ronan, Mont., was released Saturday from Innovis Health, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Prosecutors have charged Harmit Bhangu, 32, with second-degree attempted murder and second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon in connection with the incident at the Interstate 94 rest stop.

Bhangu, a truck driver from Chestermere, Alberta, Canada, also is charged with fourth-degree assault on a police officer for allegedly striking a detective in the face.

According to court documents, Bhangu told police that God ordered him to kill Morigeau.

Court documents state Morigeau was stabbed eight to 10 times. He underwent surgery at Innovis, a spokeswoman said.
