Morben receives high scores at piano contest
Ashley Morben, a ninth grader at Detroit Lakes High School, participated in the Minnesota Music Teachers Association Young Artist Competition.
The event was help March 1 at Bethel College in St. Paul. Morben performed "Sonata K. 283 1st Movement" by Mozart, "Nocturne in C# Minor" by Chopin and "Cantico Iberico" by Rocherolle in the Junior Division.
She received scores of 95, 96 and 95 from the panel of judges and was selected as a performer in the MMTA Honors Concert to be held May 31 at the University of Minnesota.
Anne Jorgenson of Jorgenson Music Studio is her instructor.
