New York Mills police chief resigns

NEW YORK MILLS, Minn. - James Van Schaick has resigned as New York Mills police chief, and former Perham and New York Mills Police Chief Brian Nelson was named interim chief.


Van Schaick submitted his letter of resignation, effective immediately, on March 17 during a special New York Mills City Council meeting. It was part of a separation agreement approved by the council after a closed portion of the meeting.
