Former Missoula, Mont., resident Nicholas C. Rudh, 28, of Grand Forks, N.D., passed away Monday, March 10, 2014 in Fargo.

Nicholas Christopher Rudh, the son of Lawrence and Martha (Cosgriff) Rudh, was born May 22, 1985 in Fargo. At the age of 8, he moved with his mother to Missoula, where he attended elementary school and graduated from Big Sky High School in 2004.

As a student, he participated in golf, football, basketball and youth hockey. He attended the University of Montana in Missoula and was elected President of Sigma Chi Fraternity and coached youth hockey.

While living in Montana, Nicholas was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed skiing, camping, hiking and hunting. He moved to Grand Forks in 2008 and attended the University of North Dakota, majoring in political science.

He spent the summer months living in Detroit Lakes, bartending at the Shoreham Hotel, and enjoyed boating, water skiing and water sports.

Surviving Nicholas are his father, Lawrence Rudh of Grand Forks; his mother, Martha Cosgriff and brothers, Ryan "Mitch" Rudh, Hunter Cosgriff-Miner, all of Missoula; a sister, Alexandra Rudh and a niece, Olivia May Alexis McGillis, both of Grand Forks; aunts, Jane (Bob) Cosgriff-Sullwold of Alameda, Calif., Lisa Cosgriff-Fleming of Denver, Colo., and Sue (Mrs. Dan) Riley of Detroit Lakes; and many close friends.

Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Alice Rudh and maternal grandparents, John "Jack" and Lorraine Cosgriff.

Funeral services are set for 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 18 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Grand Forks.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 17, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, in the Historic Norman Funeral Home-Gregory J. Norman Funeral Chapel in Grand Forks. It will continue for one hour prior to Tuesday's funeral services in the church. Interment will be at a later date.
