OSAGE -- A school bus-pickup truck collision near Osage Wednesday afternoon left the pickup driver injured.

The driver of the Ford pickup, Mahlon Edgar Edmonson, 59, of Osage was taken to St. Joseph's hospital in Park Rapids for treatment. No condition report was available Thursday evening.

The school bus driver was David Leroy Francis, 60, of Park Rapids. Gordon said about a dozen students on the bus were transferred to another school bus that took them home. The crash was reported about 3:44 p.m.

"It appears the bus driver was over the center line substantially," Gordon said. "The road was very icy and snow-packed."

Park Rapids Superintendent Glenn Chiodo said the bus sustained about $3,000 in damage.
