The Detroit Lakes trapshooting team made a spectacular debut in the first MSHSL Clay Target State Tournament Friday and Saturday at the Minneapolis Gun Club in Prior Lake.

Lakers Jona Friesen tied for second-place overall, while teammate Calvin Nodsle took a top 10 finish by tying for sixth.

The Laker team also had a solid outing by collecting 446 points to finish 16th out of 24 teams. Buffalo took top honors with 489 points.
