Norma J. Draack was born August 7, 1925, the only child of Cecil and Elizabeth (Berry) Simmons. She grew up and attended school in Dilworth, graduating with the class of 1943. Following graduation, Norma gained employment at Burlington Northern Railroad, where she worked until 1956.
Norma was united in marriage to James Draack on October 6, 1947. They were married for 26 years. Their union was blessed with three daughters: Patty, Barb and Nancy. Norma ran the Spruce Grove Club for 30 plus years. This was a very popular dance hall. Almost everyone in Frazee has fond memories or stories they could tell about the dance hall.
Norma's life revolved around family and friends, and she was very proud of her family. One of her favorite things was having friends and family visit; the more the merrier in her small apartment. She loved to share a good story she had heard. Norma also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins on TV.
Surviving Norma are three daughters, Patty (Larry) Urbach, Barb (Tom) Loeffen and Nancy (Jonathan) Hebert; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several nephews; one niece; and numerous other family members and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents and grandparents, along with several aunts and uncles.
