North Dakota employment numbers rise in December
BISMARCK - North Dakota's unemployment rate in December hit 3.4 percent, up 0.6 percent from the previous month and 0.1 percent compared to December 2007.
Numbers released today by Job Service North Dakota also show that December's unemployment rate equals 2,096 more jobless than November.
The labor statistics report shows 12,392 unemployed in North Dakota in December, compared to 10,296 in November.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for North Dakota in December was 3.5 percent, up from 3.2 percent in December 2007.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for the United States in December was 7.2 percent, up from 4.9 percent in 2007.
