North Dakota National Guard prepares for flooding through training
BISMARCK - The North Dakota National Guard and the State Department of Emergency Services are conducting a three-day flood training exercise beginning today.
First Lt. Dan Murphy says the idea is to make sure the pieces are in place - including equipment and manpower - for a quick and effective response to flooding this spring.
About 50 people will be involved in the training exercise, which will be held at the Bismarck National Guard Armory.
Murphy says the training exercise will run through Thursday and review the exercise with Commander Dave Spryczynatyk on Friday.
