NYM man sentenced for Detroit Lakes burglary
Joseph Michael Bromen, 20, of 500th Avenue, New York Mills has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony second-degree burglary, possession of burglar tools.
On Jan. 18, he was one of three men caught burglarizing 59 Trade Road Pawn, according to court records. They allegedly pried open a door with a long-handled screwdriver to get inside, and were found with three bags containing Xboxes, electric guitars and other items on the floor.
He pleaded guilty June 18 and on July 23 District Judge Peter Irvine stayed imposition of sentence for 10 years. He must serve 45 days in jail, with STS and work release privileges granted, and pay a $1,000 fine and fees. A restitution hearing is set for Sept. 24.
