Occupants escape Moorhead trailer fire without injury
MOORHEAD - Firefighters braved the cold late Monday night while battling a blaze that damaged a Moorhead mobile home. No one was injured.
The American Red Cross provided emergency food, clothing and shelter for a family of two displaced by the fire.
The cause of the fire had not been determined as of 7:30 a.m. today.
Authorities responded at 11:15 p.m. Monday to 150 Lancaster Drive in north Moorhead where a fire started under the mobile home in the rear section, said Moorhead Fire Chief Joel Hewitt.
The occupants of the home escaped without injury and no firefighters were hurt in extinguishing the blaze, he said.
Firefighters worked past 12:30 a.m. to look for hot spots after the fire was declared under control. Smoke slowly rose from the mobile home while firefighters worked.
The fire marshal arrived shortly after midnight to investigate the fire's cause, Hewitt said. Fire crews from Fargo and Dilworth also assisted Moorhead while The Salvation Army was on scene to provide relief support.
