Offender registration violator sentenced to prison
Wesley Allen Lauinger, 21, no address available, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for violating the predatory offender registration law, a felony.
According to court records, he was convicted of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct in 2008 and was required to register his address with police until Feb. 3, 2010.
Beginning in April of 2009, he registered a Detroit Lakes address, but after his probation officer heard he was homeless and living in the Frazee area, Detroit Lakes police investigated and found he had never lived at the Detroit Lakes address as he had claimed.
He appeared Friday before District Judge Joe Evans, who sentenced him to a year and a day in state prison.
He was granted credit for 161 days served in jail and was fined $190. He was ordered to provide authorities with a DNA sample
