Ogema man charged with criminal sexual conduct
An Ogema man accused of sexually assaulting a minor female on numerous occasions in 2012 made his first appearance Tuesday in Becker County District Court.
Corey Victor Bevins, 40, is facing one count of first degree criminal sexual conduct. His bail was set Tuesday at $150,000 with conditions, or $300,000 without conditions; he remains in custody at the Becker County Jail pending his next court appearance, at a Monday Rule 8 hearing.
Bevins was charged after a search warrant was executed Jan. 7 at the residence on Bear Clan Drive where he was living at the time.
Investigators discovered a computer which was seized as evidence; the computer was subsequently found to contain a video clip that allegedly showed a man having sex with a girl under the age of 13. The man was subsequently identified as Bevins.
Upon questioning, Bevins allegedly admitted that he had engaged in sex with the girl numerous times over a six-month period in 2012. All of the alleged incidents occurred in Becker County, according to court records.
