Travis John Guy, 31, of 37073 295th Ave., Ogema, is also facing a gross misdemeanor charge of driving after license cancellation in connection with the Feb. 5 incident.

According to the criminal complaint, Guy was allegedly behind the wheel of a vehicle that Ogema-Callaway Police Chief Tim Haverkamp attempted to stop for speeding in Ogema.

The vehicle was going approximately 47 miles per hour in a 40 mile-per-hour zone when Haverkamp attempted a traffic stop, but rapidly accelerated to 115 miles per hour after the officer activated the lights and siren on his vehicle.

The chase lasted for more than six miles, before the driver reportedly attempted to turn the vehicle into a gas station and was stopped by a PIT maneuver initiated by Haverkamp.

After being arrested and taken to jail for booking, Guy allegedly refused to submit to testing, and would not allow blood or urine samples to be taken. It was also discovered at that time that he had a canceled license.

Guy is currently in custody at the Becker County Jail pending his next court appearance, at a March 3 omnibus hearing. His bail was set at $50,000 with conditions, or $100,000 without conditions.
