According to court records: On Nov. 6, 2008, tribal police officers responded to a domestic call from his residence and found a woman who had been assaulted -- she had a cut near her left eye, a bloody nose, bruises and swelling on her face.

Her and Thompson had lived together for three years and had a romantic relationship.

She told the officer that Thompson had been drinking that evening at another residence, and on the way home in the car had punched her twice.

Once home, she managed to get into the house, but he followed and began to hit her and verbally abuse her. She called 911 and he hit her in the face.

The officer noticed bullets lying around the house and asked if Thompson had a gun. A .38 caliber revolver with two rounds in the chamber was found in a drawer in the bedroom.

Thompson was found hiding under a detached pickup topper on the edge of the lawn and arrested.

He had a prior assault conviction in 2001 and a domestic assault conviction in 2003. At the time he assaulted the woman, he was on probation for third-degree controlled substance crime.

He appeared Tuesday before District Judge Joe Evans, who sentenced him to 21 months in prison, with credit for time served, and ordered him to pay a $50 fine and fees from his prison pay.

He was also sentenced to 48 months in prison, execution of sentence stayed seven years, on a felony DWI charge.

On July 14, 2008, the white Thunderbird he was driving was pulled over on Dump Road by a tribal cop acting on a tip about a possible stolen car.

When the officer attempted to pull him over, he first sped up, then abruptly stopped and attempted to walk away from the car. He returned when ordered to come back by the officer. His blood alcohol level tested at .15 percent. He has two prior DWI convictions from 2001.
