Ogema man sentenced for domestic assault
William Pershing Miller, 60, of 31833 County Road 21, Ogema has been sentenced in Becker County District Court on two misdemeanor charges of domestic assault. A felony terroristic threats charge was dismissed in a plea agreement.
On Aug. 27 police officers were called to his residence on a domestic disturbance complaint. He allegedly hit a woman with whom he has a long-term relationship, then begin assaulting his brother after his brother told him to leave her alone. He threatened to kill both of them, according to court records.
On March 7, District Judge Mark Hansen sentenced him to 90 days in jail, the balance of that time stayed two years. He was fined $250 on each of the two misdemeanor counts and ordered to pay reimbursement of $1,000 for electronic home monitoring equipment that had been in place. He must also follow the recommendation of a chemical use assessment taken in White Earth.
