Ojibwe artists' reception is Friday at NYMRCC

Marcum concert

Zion Lutheran Church on Franklin Lake hosts a Two For Life Concert, featuring Jay and Jodi Marcum out of Nashville. They will present a high-energy, jazzy Gospel experience of classic and contemporary sounds. The performance starts at 7 p.m. Come between 5:30-6:45 for grilled hot dogs with all the trimmings. It is a free-will offering.

Square dance

There will be a Larry's Plus Square dance at 7 p.m. in the Detroit Lakes IOOF Hall. Caller is Larry Johansen.

Butch Thompson

Jazz pianist and clarinetist Butch Thompson, well known for his long association with Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion" on public radio, will bring two friends to Detroit Lakes for an 8 p.m. concert at the Historic Holmes Theatre in Detroit Lakes. Introduction to eBay

Everyone is invited to learn how to buy and sell on eBay, the world's largest online marketplace, from 10-11:30 a.m. in the DL Library. This beginning course will teach participants how to set up an eBay account, search for, bid on and purchase items and list items for sale. Pick up tips on how to use eBay and safely shop online. All you need to attend the class are basic computer skills, knowledge of the internet and an email address. If you have experience using eBay, please come and share your knowledge with others. Class size is limited; please call 847-2168 or stop in to the library to pre-register.

Quilt show, garden tour

The public is invited to an outdoor quilt show, garden tour and tea from 1-3 at 4020 4th St., Lake Park. (In case of rain, the event will be held at St. Francis Church.) There will be door prizes, gifts to purchase, quilts to vote on, a garden to tour and tea offered throughout the day. The event benefits the Families Forever Scholarship fund. The Refuge of Detroit Lakes presents its annual Fall Harvest Music Festival fund-raiser from noon to 8 p.m. in the Detroit Lakes City Park Bandshell. 'Leave it to Beavers'

Tamarac Wildlife Refuge presents "Leave it to Beavers" at 2 p.m. Take an intriguing look into the world of beavers. Learn about some amazing adaptations this creature has acquired over thousands of years of evolution. Visit a beaver dam and lodge and learn how this large rodent played a role in Minnesota's history. Meet at visitor center for program and caravan to beaver site.

Habitat Golf Scramble
