Open house for Verndale artist Saturday at NYM Cultural Center
Verndale artist Karen Heller will be featured in a new exhibit of oil paintings at the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center that runs through Saturday, July 30.
The show of 50 landscapes, portraits, and constructions span a period of more than 20 years and depict a life in art. A reception for Heller is open to all on Saturday, July 2 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Heller has some of her landscape work on display at the Tri-County Hospital in Wadena.
She completed a course of study in media technology at Central Lakes College in Staples, and is employed at The Depot in Wadena, where she works on marketing initiatives and developing materials telling the Wadena area story to visitors.
The show at the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center is her first solo exhibition.
The Cultural Center is located at 24 Main Ave. North in New York Mills.
Admission to the gallery, and to Saturday's open house, is free.
