Pamela J. Smith, 45, of White Earth, died Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Merticare Hospital in Fargo, following a six-year battle with cancer.
A mass Of Christian burial was held Monday, December 7 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in White Earth, with Father Walter Butor, O.M.I., officiating. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, White Earth.
Pamela Jean Smith was born to Allen and Judith (Fiebelkorn) Smith on December 19, 1963 in Detroit Lakes. She was raised in White Earth and Minneapolis. She received her accounting training in the Twin Cities and worked as a black jack dealer at Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake, Minn., and later for the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen. Pam later worked as a medical clerk for the White Earth Public Health Service until ill health forced her retirement.
Pam enjoyed fishing, the casino, beadwork, traveling, powwows and sewing.
Surviving Pamela are two sisters, Rhonda Smith of Moorhead and Lori (Paul) Jackson of Richwood; a brother, Jason Smith of Richwood; her boyfriend, Merlin Jackson of White Earth, and her dog, Cheifie.
