This Thursday, Oct. 10 through Saturday, Oct. 12, a cast of paranormal celebrities and supernatural experts from all over the world will gather to present and share their experiences of phenomenon at Paracon 2013, the third annual paranormal convention hosted by the Shooting Star Casino, Hotel and Event Center in Mahnomen.

Attendees will have the chance to interact with paranormal experts, including Jason Hawes and Steve Gonsalves from SyFy’s “Ghost Hunters,” Kris Williams and Dustin Pari from “Ghost Hunters International,” Kevin Betzer and Randy Hardy from “Deep South Paranormal,” Patrick Doyle from “Ghost Mine,” John Zaffis from “Haunted Collector,” Josh Gates and Erin Ryder from “Destination Truth,” and Ben Hansen and Bill Murphy from “Fact or Faked.”

Also presenting at the convention will be and Carmen Reed, the real-life mother from the 2009 psychological horror film, “A Haunting in Connecticut,” and Erin Marie Hogan from the 2009 supernatural horror film, “Paranormal Entity,” as well as UFO expert Stanton Friedman, psychic medium Chip Coffey and the lakes area’s own Midwest Paranormal, which will once again officially kick off the convention on Friday at 1 p.m.

In addition, vendor booths will be set up throughout the Event Center during this year’s Paranormal Convention, giving convention-goers additional opportunities to meet supernatural experts and conference presenters, talk with paranormal investigators, purchase goods and services, and more.

The 2013 Paranormal Convention agenda is as follows:

Thursday, October 10

  • 7 p.m. – VIP Dinner: Hang out with some of the paranormal presenters and enjoy entertainment by Illusionist Aiden Sinclair.

Friday, October 11

  • 11 a.m. – Booths open
  • 1 p.m. – Midwest Paranormal
  • 2:30 p.m. – “A Haunting In Connecticut” real-life star, Carmen Reed, and “Haunted Collector” star John Zaffis
  • 4 p.m. – “Ghost Hunters” stars Jason Hawes and Steve Gonsalves
  • 5:30 p.m. – “Destination Truth” stars Josh Gates and Erin Ryder

Saturday, October 12

  • 11 a.m. – Booths open
  • 11 a.m. – Gallery Reading from Chip Coffey
  • 1 p.m. – SyFy Special featuring:  “Ghost Hunters” star Steve Gonsalves; “Ghost Hunters ”and “Ghost Hunters International” stars Dustin Pari and Kris Williams; “Deep South Paranormal” stars Kevin Betzer and Randy Hardy; and “Ghost Mine” star Patrick Doyle
  • 2:30 p.m. – UFO expert Stanton Friedman
  • 4 p.m. – “Haunted Collector” star John Zaffis
  • 5:30 p.m. – “Fact or Faked” stars Bill Murphy and Ben Hansen

The Shooting Star is located at 777 Casino Road in Mahnomen.

Official “ParaCon 2013” t-shirts will be for sale at the Shooting Star Event Center booth during the convention.
