Every Thanksgiving weekend since 2005, the American Legion Club in Lake Park has opened its doors to the public for the annual Parade of Trees.

The 9th annual event will open this Thursday, Nov. 28 — Thanksgiving Day — at 3 p.m., and continues through Sunday, Dec. 1.

According to organizer Melanie Hanson, she and her friend Abby Anderson began putting together the annual event as a fun way of bringing the community together.
