Park Rapids man gets jail for burglary
A Park Rapids man was sentenced for his felony conviction of second degree burglary from an incident that happened in December.
Tracy Lynn Boyce, 47, was sentenced to 28 months in prison, stayed for 10 years. He was ordered to spend 90 days in jail and pay a $1,000 fine.
According to the complaint, Becker County officers were notified that a suspicious person in a pickup was sitting outside his neighbor’s house, who was not home.
When the man approached Boyce, he told the neighbor that the resident owed him money before taking off.
The neighbor followed Boyce for a period of time, and witnessed him throwing items out the window, including clothes and a painting.
Those items were later determined to have come from that residence.
The homeowner told police he knew of one person who had a pickup matching the description, a man named Tracy that he went to A.A. with and who lived a couple miles down the road from him.
The neighbor later identified Boyce in a lineup as the person he had spoken with.
Shoe and tire tracks from the scene were also matched to Boyce’s vehicle and shoes.
