Park Rapids man gets jail, probation
A Park Rapids man was sentenced late last week in Becker County District Court on a felony charge of motor vehicle theft.
Jeremy Alan Holder Jr., 26, of 1213 Fish Hook Drive, Park Rapids, was given a stay of imposition on a potential prison sentence, on conditions including completion of up to five years of supervised probation, 30 days in jail and community service work in lieu of $1,160 in court fines and fees.
If he successfully completes probation, the charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor on his record.
Holder was charged in connection with the April 11 theft of a pickup from a Detroit Lakes muffler shop. According to court records, he admitted taking the car to go to a party, but abandoned it on the Vergas Trails when the vehicle became stuck.
