Park Rapids man injured in broadside crash
A Park Rapids man was injured in a broadside accident Monday evening near Downer.
David C. Velazquez, 37, of Park Rapids suffered non life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.
He was westbound on Clay County Road 71 in a 1995 Subaru Legacy when he failed to stop for a stop sign at the junction of Highway 9, north of Downer.
The Subaru was hit broadside by a 2007 Chevy K15, northbound on Highway 9, driven by Chad D. Sogge, 37, of Barnesville. He suffered no apparent injuries in the crash.
Both vehicles landed in a field, and the Subaru possibly rolled, according to the State Patrol.
The accident was reported at 8:25 p.m. on dry two-lane blacktop.
The Clay County Sheriff's Department and Glyndon Police Department assisted at the scene.
