Patricia Lynn Basswood, 43, of Ogema, died Satur-day, February 7, 2009, at St. Mary's Innovis Health Cen-ter in Detroit Lakes.

Patricia Lynn Basswood, known as "Patti Lynn," was born to Norman Blakely and Mary Lou Basswood on Sept. 26, 1965 in Park Rap-ids. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, Anna and Albert Basswood. She attended Pine Point Elementary School, Park Rapids High School and Circle Of Life High School in White Earth. Patricia was in the process of obtaining her G.E.D. (graduation equivalency degree) at the time of her death.

During her working life, Patti Lynn did leeching and worked for both Swift & Company in Detroit Lakes and for the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen. Her world revolved around her son, Dennis, but she also enjoyed fishing, netting, leeching, harvesting rice, picking berries in her se-cret spot, and powwows, where she was a jingle dress dancer.

Survivors include her significant other of 12 years, Dennis St. Clair, Sr., of Ogema; son, Dennis Frank St. Clair II of Ogema; mother, Mary Lou Bass-wood of Ponsford; niece, whom she raised, Crystal Basswood of Ponsford; sis-ter, Barbara (Clarence) Basswood of Ponsford; and a brother, Norman Basswood of Ponsford.

Preceding Patricia in death were her father, Norman Blakely; her ma-ternal grandparents, Albert and Anna Basswood and her paternal grandparents, Simon and Rachel Blakely.

Visitation begins at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, continuing until the start of fneral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, in the Old Pine Point School, Ponsford. Burial will be at the Breck Memorial Episcopal Cemetery in Ponsford.
