Patricia Haglund

Sept. 4, 1933-Feb. 4, 2010

Former Moorhead resident Patricia M. Haglund, 76, of rural Lake Park, died Thursday, February 4, 2010 at her residence.

Patricia Marlene Heisler was born to Raymond and Viola (Boss) Heisler on September 4, 1933 in Fargo, where she grew up and received her education. She then went to work as an operator for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Fargo, where she met her future husband.

On June 27, 1953 Patricia was united in marriage to Lawrence A. Haglund. They made their home in Fargo. They later resided in California for a brief time and in Buhl, Minn., for nine years before returning to Moorhead.

Patricia worked as the director of housekeeping at Eventide Nursing Home in Moorhead, retiring in 1998. She spent the last two years living on Leaf Lake with her son John and his family, enjoying lakeside living and resting between her dialysis treatments.

Patricia was active in the VFW Auxiliary and was always eager to say yes when someone was looking for a volunteer. She enjoyed reading, playing bingo, and traveling. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a constant source of pride and enjoyment in her life. They kept her busy with ball games, concerts, plays and weddings. Her quick, dry sense of humor and infectious laugh could make anyone smile. She was loved by her family and her many friends and will be missed by all that knew her.

Surviving Patricia are two daughters, Carol (Rollie) Church of Deer River, Minn., and Jane (Michael) Meyer of Underwood, Minn.; three sons, John (Denise) Haglund, of Lake Park, Rick Haglund, of Chaska, Minn., and Greg (Martha) Haglund, of Bradenton, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald (Mildred) Heisler of Hot Springs Village, Ark., and Verne Heisler of Spring Valley, Calif.; two sisters, Mary Lou Olson of Glenwood, Minn., and Kathleen (Larry) Keller of Washburn, N.D.; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Lawrence (1999); one brother, Raymond "Jack" Heisler; one grandson, Jeremiah Haglund; and her best friend, Joyce.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 12 at West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, with a 7 p.m. prayer service.

Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, February 13 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, rural Audubon.
