Patricia A. Hendrickson, 76, of Vergas, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes.
Funeral services are set for 7 p.m. Friday, May 7 at the Chapel at Oak Crossing, with Chaplain Tim Cook officiating. Friends may call at the chapel for one hour prior to services.
Interment will be at a later date in Bristol, Wis.
Patricia Ann Olson was born to to Elmer and Ellen (Christiansen) Olson on July 10, 1933 in Ada, Minn. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Naytahwaush. She attended schools in Naytahwaush and Mahnomen, graduating from Mahnomen High School in 1951.
Pat then moved to Chicago, Ill., where she was united in marriage to Lyle Hendrickson, May 10, 1952. In 1961 they moved to Mahnomen, where she worked as nurse's aid at the Mahnomen Hospital. In 1971, they moved to Bristol, Wis., where they had a small farm with a menagerie of animals, including award winning dairy goats. In 1996 they purchased an old farm house on Sunfish Lake near Vergas, which they refurbished into a beautiful home prior to moving there full time in 2001.
Pat enjoyed her grand and great grandchildren, collecting antiques, working crossword puzzles, writing, painting and playing the guitar and the piano.
Surviving Pat are her husband Lyle, of Vergas; children, Karyn (Charles R.) Bright of Laurel, Md., Steven (Nancy) Hendrickson of Trevor, Wis., David (Laurie Lynn) Hendrickson of Fairbanks, Alaska, Lauren Hendrickson of Vergas and Kristie (James) Formolo of Racine, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; her 14 year companion dog, Sophie; and a sister, Mary Miller of Great Falls, Mont.
Preceding her in death were two grandsons, Joshua and Cody; her parents; two brothers, Myles and Herb; and two sisters, Margie and Edith.
