Haglund takes pharmacist's oath
Erika Haglund participated in North Dakota State's White Coat Ceremony in the fall.
Haglund, daughter of John and Denise Haglund of Detroit Lakes, took the oath of a pharmacist during the ceremony this past Sept.
She was also a member of the Cantemus women's chorus and the Kappa Psi pharmaceutical fraternity.
Cox graduates from Concordia
Dana Cox recently graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead.
Dana is the daughter d Terence and Denise Cox of Detroit Lakes. She graduated with a major in honors biology and pre-medicine.
Brenden enrolled at Hamilton
Kayla Brenden of Detroit Lakes, daughter of Paul and Teri Lynne Brenden, began her studies at Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y this fall.
Brenden is one of 462 students who entered Hamilton College this semester out of a pool of a record 5,073 applicants.
Thielen accepted at MSU-Mankato
Adam Thielen, son of Peter and Jayne Thielen of Detroit Lakes, was accepted to Minnesota State University, Mankato for the 2008 fall semester. Adam, a 2008 graduate of Detroit Lakes High School, plans on majoring in business.
Osowski earns scholarship at BSU
Ben Osowski of Detroit Lakes accepted a $1,000 Academic Achievement Scholarship from Bemidji State University for the 2008-09 school year.
Osowski is a freshman majoring in chemistry.
Academic Achievement Scholarships are awarded to students who graduate from high school in the top 30 percent of their class and score 24 or higher on the ACT.

Leff joins FYRE
Aaron Leff of Waubun enrolled in the First Year Residential Experience at Bemidji State University.
Leff is a freshman major in aquatic biology and biology.
The FYRE program is for first year students living on campus.
The program promotes student interaction with the campus community and orienting them with the school and its facilities. It is housed in Oak Hall and each floor has two Residential Assistants as well as two Peer Academic Assistants to answer any questions the students might have.
Nathaniel Aho of Frazee and Joshua Roiko of Osage were named to the Dean's List at the University of Minnesota, Crookston for the fall 2008 semester.
To qualify for a place on the Dean's List, students must complete 12 or more
letter-graded (A-F) credits while attaining a 3.50 grade point average.
Aho is majoring in business management and Roiko is majoring in early childhood education.
Area students in 'Cabaret'
Jade Gandrud, son of Richard and Kathleen Gandrud of Audubon, and Christopher Michael Damlo, son of Michael and Gayle Damlo of Detroit Lakes, were both members of Concordia College in Moorhead's production of "Cabaret" this fall.
