Peterson asks Republicans to join bipartisan effort

This week, Congressman Collin Peterson called on Republicans to join a bipartisan effort to block the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) unilateral attempt to regulate greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act.

House Republicans have introduced a "disapproval resolution" that is identical to the bipartisan resolution that Congressman Peterson sponsored with Republican Congresswoman JoAnn Emerson and Democrat Congressman Ike Skelton last week.

The bipartisan Peterson-Skelton-Emerson resolution is the companion to Senator Lisa Murkowski's resolution in the Senate.

"This is exactly why we can't get things done in this town," Peterson said. "We've already got a bipartisan disapproval resolution, but the Republicans have decided they want a 'Republicans-only' bill - which, by the way, is exactly the same as our bipartisan bill. This makes no sense and it leaves me wondering if they honestly want to get something done."
