Hubbard's Long Lake Theatre presents the opening performance of its new production, "Dearly Departed," at 3 p.m., followed by the Opening Night Gala at the Jewel of the Northwoods Bed & Breakfast. Additional performances will take place every Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m., along with Wednesday matinees at 3 p.m., through Aug. 29. The 27th annual WE Fest begins today at Detroit Lakes' Soo Pass Ranch. Scheduled performers include Silverado at 2:45 p.m., 32 Below at 4:15 p.m., Sawyer Brown at 6:15 p.m., Trace Adkins at 8:30 p.m. and Toby Keith at 10:45 p.m. For those who don't already have tickets, single-day and four-day passes are available at the gate.
Live at the Lodge
The Lodge on Lake Detroit will host a free "Live at the Lodge" concert every Thursday through Aug. 27. This week's performance of "Ivory Perfume" features the talents of pianist Carol Ledeboer-Johnson. The concert will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. in the hotel's Fireside Lobby, and is free and open to the public as well as hotel guests. Saturday's festivities at the Pine Point Traditional Powwow start early with a 5k run/walk at 8:30 a.m., dedicated to the memory of White Earth spiritual elder George "Joe Bush" Fairbanks. ITOW exhibit reception
A reception for the new ITOW Museum exhibit, "Portraits of Home II: Veterans in Search of Stable Housing in Greater Minnesota," is set to take place Monday, Aug. 10 at 5 p.m. The documentary photography exhibit features over 50 photos by six distinguished photojournalists, who have captured some of the challenges of greater Minnesota's affordable housing crisis. Tuesdays in the Park
The Tuesdays in the Park summer concert series continues with a live performance by the Ulen Com- munity Band at 7 p.m. in the DL City Park Bandshell. It is a free show, and open to the public. Before each Tuesday's concert, Thrivent Builds for Habitat will also have a picnic fund-raiser, grilling up fresh burgers and brats for sale at the shelter near the bandshell from 6 to 7 p.m. Call 218-844-SHOW (7469) for more info.
