Plea deal reached in Wadena-Perham embezzlement case
A Wadena and Perham eye doctor was notified a plea deal was reached in the case of a former employee who allegedly took about $125,000.
Tim Neitzke, owner of Neitzke Eye Clinic in Wadena and the umbrella company, Minnesota EyeCare Network, Inc., said last week he was notified by Otter Tail County prosecutors that a plea deal is in place, and the defendant, Ruth Ann Ramsay, pleaded guilty to an amended felony theft charge.
Neitzke won $125,121 in a civil case in the matter, but the criminal prosecution just wrapped up on June 10, according to prosecutor Michelle Eldien.
Ramsay is to serve 20 days in the Otter Tail County Detention Facility and be placed on five years supervised probation, in addition to paying restitution. Ramsay asked to serve her jail sentence starting June 14, the prosecutor said.
