Polaris honors Detroit Lakes man, DeJong
Polaris Industries Inc. has honored Detroit Lakes man Tim DeJong.
DeJong was one of two employees from Polaris dealerships recognized for being a valued supplier for significant long-term contributions to the company's success.
DeJong was inducted into the Polaris Hall of Fame at the National Sales Meeting held in Las Vegas.
DeJong, who lives in Detroit Lakes, joined Polaris in 1991 as Materials Manager. In 1995, he became Plant Manager for the company's Roseau facilities and directed a complete remodeling of Roseau manufacturing.
He oversaw the startup of the Polaris plastic injection plant and the expansion and modernization of the coatings operation. DeJong managed all Polaris manufacturing as Director of North American Operations from 2000-2005, when the company won numerous safety and environmental compliance awards.
He was General Manager of the Utility Vehicle Division from 2005-2006, and currently works on a variety of manufacturing and business efficiency projects for Polaris.
