Police chase through Fargo-Moorhead metro area lands two men in jail
MOORHEAD - Two men were arrested overnight after a police pursuit through Fargo and Moorhead.
Moorhead Police Sgt. Mike Detloff said the chase started just after 3 a.m. today.
Detloff said the chase ended at the intersection of U.S. Highway 75 and Wall Street in north Moorhead when officers used what's called a "pit maneuver" to spin out the suspect's vehicle.
Police arrested the driver, 33 year-old Robert Church III of Minot, on suspicion of drunken driving and fleeing officers.
Galen Littlewind, 31, of Fargo was a passenger in the vehicle. He was arrested on suspicion of making terroristic threats to police while he was being taken into custody.
Detloff said top speeds during the pursuit were around 70 miles an hour.
He said Moorhead police tried to stop a vehicle near the Safari Theater in south Moorhead
The driver fled, leading officers on a chase through residential streets of Fargo and then on Main Avenue back into Moorhead.
Both Church and Littlewind were taken to the Clay County Jail.
