Police: Moorhead man died from ‘homicidal violence’

MOORHEAD – Moorhead police this afternoon officially released the identity of a man who was found dead in his home Wednesday night as Henry Andrew Volochenko, 87.

A written statement released by Deputy Chief Shannon Monroe stated that the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office has determined Volochenko died as a result of trauma by homicidal violence.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension remains on the scene at Volochenko’s home at 1209 Main Avenue in Moorhead to process the crime scene, the statement said.

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in reporting any information connected to the crime or possible suspects.

Moorhead police plan a news conference at 3 p.m. today to discuss the case.
