Ponsford man faces domestic assault charges
A Ponsford man made his first appearance Monday in Becker County District Court on a felony charge of domestic assault by strangulation.
Beaux Michael Duvall, 21, of 28100 476th St., Ponsford, is also facing two related misdemeanor charges of fifth degree assault in connection with an Aug. 27 incident at a residence on Waboose Drive in Becker County.
According to the complaint, a White Earth police officer was called to investigate a reported assault. He spoke with an adult female who said that she and Duvall, who were in a romantic relationship, had gotten into an argument about money that took place in her bedroom.
Duvall allegedly punched her in the forehead, then pinned her down on the bed and tried to strangle her, using both hands.
Duvall's bail was set Monday at $1,000 with conditions, or $5,000 without; he remains in custody. His next court appearance will be at a Rule 8 hearing on Oct. 4.
