Ponsford man pleads not guilty to posessing stolen property, DWI
Eric Jerome Goodman, 21, of Ponsford appeared in Hubbard County District Court and pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of stolen property, third degree DWI and driving after revocation.
According to the complaint, at 7:20 a.m. Nov. 21 a state trooper was dispatched to a personal injury accident at Highway 87 and CSAH 6. The report was that a vehicle traveling south on CSAH 6 went through the T-intersection, into the ditch and came to rest in the trees.
At the scene, the trooper was told the driver was alone in the vehicle and was in the front seat with his feet pinned in the driver's side floor by the pedals. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The results of a blood draw at the hospital showed an alcohol concentration of .09 (with .08 being the legal limit). The vehicle came back as stolen out of Detroit Lakes. His record shows one prior DWI from December 2002.
The felony charge of possession of stolen property carries a maximum of five years in jail and/or a $10,000 fine, the DWI a maximum of one year and/or a $3,000 fine and driving after revocation 90 days and/or a $1,000 fine.
