Ponsford man sentenced for DWI
Randy Lee Kettle, 26, of 2311 465th Ave., Ponsford has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for third-degree DWI, .08 or more, a gross misdemeanor.
A felony charge of motor vehicle theft and another gross misdemeanor DWI charge were dismissed in a plea agreement.
According to court records: On Oct. 9, a 1992 Chevrolet Blazer was reported stolen from a Ponsford residence. A tribal police officer acting on a tip from the owner found it parked in the middle of the road on Waboose Lane, with Kettle behind the wheel.
His blood alcohol level tested at .27 percent.
He appeared Dec. 31 before District Judge Joe Evans, who sentenced him to 365 days in jail, stayed six years. He was given credit for 19 days served in jail.
He was fined $500 plus court fees, but can do community service work in lieu of the fine.
