Powwow, rodeo events: White Earth, Hawley host traditional celebrations
There are also food vendors, songs, dance and Native American arts and crafts. Last year, approximately 700 dancers and 25 drum groups from across America performed.
The powwow is open to the general public, not exclusively to the people of White Earth or the Native American community.

The 2012 Hawley Rodeo Fest is from June 2-9.
The fun begins at 7 a.m. on Saturday with the 12th annual Breakfast on the Farm at Kasin Farms, offered until noon.
Other Saturday, June 2, events will include a kids' tractor pull at 9 a.m., an antique tractor display and a farm animal zoo.
Sunday starts with Community Cowboy Church at 10 a.m. at the Rodeo Grounds, followed by a benefit horse show.
The Little Miss Hawley and Miss Hawley Scholarship pageants are scheduled for Monday, June 4. The Little Miss Hawley winner is chosen by a random drawing, while the Miss Hawley Scholarship Pageant includes talent and evening gown competitions.
Tuesday will feature live music, Jackpot Team Roping and a variety show. The Program Health Fair is scheduled for June 6, which will feature a variety of vendors, and a magic show will be held Thursday.
Friday and Saturday are the PRCA Rodeo performances.
In addition to rodeo performances, Friday and Saturday will feature a horseshoe tournament, a 5K run/walk, a classic car and motorcycle show, a beef feed, parades and children's games.
