Practical nursing grads honored at M State
Fourteen practical nursing students at Minnesota State Community and Technical College - Detroit Lakes were honored July 29 in the traditional pinning ceremony that marks the completion of their nursing program.
During the ceremony, a pin, which is unique to each college's nursing program, is placed on each student's white uniform by a faculty member and signifies moving from student to peer.
The student speaker at the ceremony was Jordan Burgau. The guest speaker was Teresa Stoderl, an LPN at Perham Memorial Hospital who worked with the Detroit Lakes nursing students during their clinicals at the hospital.
Following validation from the dean for completion of their programs, the students now are eligible to take their board of nursing exams.
