Psychological eval ordered for Moorhead man pulled off train tracks
MOORHEAD - A judge on Thursday ordered a man who was forcibly pulled off train tracks here last week to undergo a psychological evaluation in his civil commitment case in Clay County District Court, a prosecutor said.
Mark Flowers, 57, Moorhead, was at Thursday's hearing, which was closed to the public.
Flowers declined to speak with The Forum after the hearing, saying only that he hadn't meant to kill himself when two passersby found him clinging to the tracks at Center Avenue and Main Avenue as a train bore down on him. He says he doesn't recall the incident.
The petition filed by Clay County officials alleges that Flowers has a history of mental illness and chemical dependency and is a danger to himself.
Clay County Attorney Brian Melton said it will likely be another two weeks before the results of the psychological examination are known.
