Public meetings to be held for Highway 34 project
The public is invited to attend one of two open houses to learn more about a 2014-2015 project to construct passing lanes and turn lanes on Highway 34 between Detroit Lakes and Akeley.
The open houses will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, in the Park Rapids Library, and Tuesday, Jan. 28, in M-State Detroit Lakes.
Short presentations will begin at 5:30 p.m. each evening.
The passing lanes and turn lanes are based on a 2003 Interregional Corridor Study. The project is funded by the Corridors of Commerce program authorized by the state legislature to help improve freight movement and mobility.
