Red River drops below flood stage in Fargo
FARGO - The Red River has dropped below its flood stage of 18 feet here, according to the National Weather Service.
The river level dipped to 17.99 feet at 6:15 p.m. Monday and was at 17.68 feet at 7 a.m. today.
The weather service forecasts the river will drop below 17 feet, which is considered action stage, on Thursday.
The Buffalo River near Dilworth remains at minor flood stage, at 14.15 feet at 7 a.m. today. The river is expected to drop below its flood stage of 12 feet early Thursday.
The Red River at Wahpeton, N.D., also is forecasted to drop below its flood stage of 8.5 feet late Wednesday or early Thursday.
